Course overview
This degree has majors in cyber security, networking, cloud and virtualisation. It draws on fundamental studies in basic networking, cloud computing and introductory programming in first year. It then builds with operating systems, cyber security, network security, systems security, virtualisation, programming for web applications and business and communication skills in second year.
Third year content includes emerging ICT technologies, advance security and/or virtualisation techniques and entrepreneurship and innovation skills. All areas are in strong demand for graduates. This course produces adaptable graduates who are as comfortable presenting ideas in the boardroom as they are in the workplace. Centre of Excellence at Box Hill Institute has recently set up its own Cyber Security Operation Centre for practical application of studies. Box Hill Institute is a Cisco Training Centre, a VMware Academy, a Citrix Academy, a NetApp Academy, a LPI Academy and a Microsoft Learning Partner.
