Course overview

This course consists of majors in Applied Human Nutrition; Public Health Nutrition; and Food Science and Food Service and provides options to study minors in biomedicine and chemistry.  

Successful completion of Applied Human Nutrition and Biomedical Nutrion minors, with appropriate academic standing, prepare graduates for entry to postgraduate Dietetic studies for those interested in becoming Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs), registered with the Dietitians Association of Australia. 

Students who are interested in humanitarian assistance and international development work should complete the Public Health Nutrition major and apply for entry into the Master of Public Health (Global Nutrition and Active Living). 

The Food Science major offers opportunties to learn concepts and principles of food composition, food processing, preservation, and safety. The Food Service major prepares you for employment in food service systems as diet monitors and food service assistants.
