Course overview

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice) is Federation's premier co-operative degree, with a long history of providing students with successful placements with key industry partners including IBM®, and more recently Kyndryl and Westpac. You’ll become ‘job-ready’ through our mandatory career development units, and complete at least 60 days of paid placement through Federation Co-op.

Choose from majors in Mainframe (a unique worldwide offering via few universities), Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Business Analysis, Cyber Security, and Software Engineering.

Current Year 12 graduates

ATAR

This course uses the ATAR as part of its selection considerations.

Subject adjustment

A study score of 35 in any Business or any Information Technology equals 3 aggregate points per study.

Overall maximum of 5 points.

SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme)

Applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage are encouraged to apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).

Minimum requirements

Previous higher education studies with results at a pass level, including any 'single subjects of study', or successful completion of a tertiary preparatory program such as the Federation Access Studies (FAST) course.

Applicants with VET study

Successful completion of a relevant VET qualification at Certificate III level or higher.

Applicants with work and life experience

VTAC Personal Statement

Please include your employment history and any relevant volunteer work.

Applicants who have not completed secondary education, or undertaken any TAFE or university studies will not be eligible for entry into this program.

Applicants in this category should consider a pathway program such as Federation Access Studies (FAST) course.
