Course overview

Electronic and computer systems engineering and computer science are taught together in this flagship double degree. You'll learn fundamental knowledge in the areas of computer programming, embedded systems, computer architecture, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and network engineering so that you can develop holistic skills and capabilities to design, implement and maintain complex computer hardware and software systems.   In the years to come, the demand for graduates with both engineering and computer science expertise is expected to be high. You’ll gain skills through hands-on experience in our well-equipped laboratories, and real-world experience through engineering work experience. RMIT graduates work in industries including defence, health and science, business, communication and security. They design and build computer-based systems and communication networks, and work with both the hardware and structure of computer systems and the software controlling them.
