Course overview

This is one of the few agriculture degrees in Australia with a practical focus. Specially designed with industry input, graduates of this degree are prepared to meet the needs of an industry currently being transformed by technology and digital disruption.

Choose from specialisations such as agronomy, viticulture and winemaking or sports turf science and management.

Delivered in partnership with Melbourne Polytechnic, the course combines classroom and online learning with practical study opportunities. You will gain hands-on experience in Melbourne Polytechnic's labs and facilities, including the wireless sensor platforms at Melbourne Polytechnic farms.

You will have the opportunity to complete an industry placement as part of your degree.

  • Current Year 12 graduates ATAR This course uses the ATAR as part of its selection considerations. VTAC Personal Statement Applicants are required to submit a VTAC Personal Statement if they wish other information to be considered during the selection process. This may include details of industry or management experience, reasons for studying Agriculture, previous related experience and previous qualifications. Interview Applicants may be required to attend an interview. Details will be provided by mail or telephone to applicants required to attend. Regional Adjustment Applicants whose residential address is classified as RA2 or higher using the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard - Remoteness Area (ASGS-RA) (2016) qualify for a regional adjustment. Subject adjustment A study score of 25 in Maths: Mathematical Methods, Maths: Specialist Mathematics or any Science equals 4 aggregate points per study.
