Course overview

La Trobe’s Diploma of Information Technology/Bachelor of Computer Science package gives you a direct pathway to the Bachelor of Computer Science if you didn’t meet the entry requirements or would like additional support as you transition to university.

In the Diploma you’ll study in the same subjects and classes as Bachelor students while receiving additional support from a dedicated Senior Support Advisor.

Upon successful completion of the Diploma you will move directly into the second year of the Bachelor of Computer Science (at the Melbourne campus), receiving advanced standing for the subjects you have already completed. *

La Trobe’s Bachelor of Computer Science will help you gain the technical skills to adapt to emerging technologies across an increasingly digital world. You’ll choose from three majors – artificial intelligence, software engineering or cloud analytics – so you can prepare for a specialised career in computer science.
