La Trobe's Bachelor of Cybersecurity offers you the opportunity to step into the rapidly evolving digital world of cybersecurity. You'll build a highly specialised technical skillset as you learn about the history of hacking, build your coding expertise, and access industry-based projects and mentoring opportunities with major corporations. You'll also have the opportunity to complement your industry-focused learning with a choice of advanced electives in IT, business, law, policy and strategic communication.

Standard entry

Current Year 12 graduates

ATAR

This course uses the ATAR as part of its selection considerations.

Regional Adjustment

Applicants whose residential address is classified as RA2 or higher using the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard - Remoteness Area (ASGS-RA) (2021) qualify for a regional adjustment.

Subject adjustment

A study score of 25 in any Information Technology, Maths: Specialist Mathematics or any Science equals 4 aggregate points per study.

A study score of 20 in any LOTE equals 4 aggregate points per study.

Overall maximum of 12 points.

SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme)

Applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage are encouraged to apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).

Depending on eligibility and your circumstances, a SEAS application may provide support for your course application.

Recent Year 12 graduates

Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)

You may satisfy the academic requirements by completing the STAT multiple choice if you:

  • are not currently studying an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent)
  • have no prior secondary school (Year 12), Vocational Education and Training (VET) studies, Higher Education (HE) studies or relevant work experience that can be considered for entry,
  • do not meet the minimum academic requirements for the program.

Applicants seeking consideration via Work Recognition must complete all requirements listed on the La Trobe University Work Recognition webpage and submit a VTAC Personal Statement, including relevant work experience and reasons for applying for this course.

Successful completion of two of the following four Open Access Pathway subjects :

  • STA1DCT - DATA-BASED CRITICAL THINKING
  • CSE1PE - PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENT
  • CSE1IIT - INSIDE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Applicants who have undertaken studies in a language other than English must demonstrate that they have achieved the required minimum scores in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic) or equivalent.
