Career Opportunities
There's an increasing demand for qualified early childhood teachers, meaning you will graduate with an in-demand qualification. Deakin graduates are qualified to work in early childhood settings as early childhood teachers, educational leaders, coordinators or advisers. You will also be qualified to work as a primary teacher from foundation through to grade 6. Graduates may also find work in community services, education organisations, government agencies and not-for-profit organisations.

Standard entry

  • Year 12 prerequisites Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 35 in English as an Additional Language or at least 25 in English other than EAL
  • Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics. Non-Year 12 prerequisites As for Year 12 or equivalent. For accepted evidence see: www.deakin.edu.au/undergrad-entry.

If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package.
