Visual effects artists, animators and compositors create the fantastic worlds, superhuman feats and spectacular imagery that you see on the big (and small) screen. AIE's 3D Animation and Visual Effects program runs over two years, full-time, and is designed to get you into these industries. It is a practical course designed to give the best technical training using the latest state-of-the-art technology.
This course has been written in consultation with leading film and visual effects studios, enabling you to complete impressive film projects that showcase your skills and create a professional showreel to impress potential employers. AIE graduates have worked on blockbuster films and TV shows, including Spider-man: No Way Home, The Lego Movies and Loki.

Practical experience
AIE courses are taught in a studio-simulated learning environment. Students develop hands-on skills and knowledge by working on real-world tasks. AIE Trainers are experienced industry professionals who know what it takes to make it in animation and visual effects.

The VET Student Loans program allows eligible students enrolled in AIE's approved Advanced Diploma courses to defer part of the cost of their tuition fees. A VET Student Loan gives rise to a HELP debt that continues to be a debt due to the Commonwealth until it is repaid.

3Modelling, texturing, look development, lighting, rigging, animation, compositing, effects and simulation, matchmove, production pipelines, production coordination, portfolio development, professional development. Many of these skills are mastered through a series of major projects that are focused on environment art, character art, character animation, visual effects and film production.
A key area of study in this program is two production-focused projects where short animated films are developed collaboratively. Teams learn real-world production cycles in an industry-simulated development environment, from pitching their ideas to screening their finished work.
