Course overview
The Bachelor of Theology course is designed for men and women who choose to graduate after three years of study. Students may study the course as part of a four-year combined undergraduate/postgraduate course, the Bachelor of Theology/Master of Theology (Coursework).
The focus of study at the College is the knowledge of God as revealed in the Bible. Such a study, by the very nature of its object and its sources, is demanding and rigorous in the areas of Biblical Studies (Old and New Testament and Biblical Theology) and Christian Thought (Church History, Systematic Theology and Ethics). Each of these disciplines has its own method, content and literature, but the focus on God’s revelation in Scripture is the integrating factor. The inseparability of academic study and its application in Christian ministry is a reflection of the Bible generally and the New Testament in particular. Most of the New Testament arises out of a pastoral context. Accordingly, no study of the Bible, or theology deriving from it, is complete without a pastoral dimension.
This a three year full time course, the first year of which may be completed part time.
