Course overview
The Bachelor of Music - Musicology blends research, theory and philosophy to provide you with a framework to investigate the cultural history of music in its various forms. You will solidify a foundation of musical literacy, interact with materials that create music, examine how those elements are structured and notated in diverse genres, and develop your skills to identify musical structures by ear.
Though the course is primarily research-based, you will also collaborate on practical projects and have the opportunity to take electives from across our Bachelor of Music programs which include performance, composition and creative audio technology. You will graduate as an articulate music scholar with an in-depth understanding of music in its rich historical and cultural contexts.
