Course overview
This course will provide you with the key principles of creative therapies including art, play, dance, drama and music. It will help you to work with a diverse range of clients, from people who have experienced traumas to members of Aboriginal and cross-cultural communities. The course blends Western approaches with Aboriginal healing practices and knowledges. It is designed for you if you're working in health, community, justice, education, and related fields, or if you work in Aboriginal and cross-cultural communities. The course also offers an entry point to higher education.
Entry requirements
Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.
Postgraduate entry
- Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, master’s degree or equivalent international qualification. Consideration will also be given to applicants who have at least three years of appropriate experience working with, or living in, Aboriginal communities. Ensure you include this experience in the employment section of your application. You may be asked to provide a curriculum vitae (CV) at a later date.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
