Course overview

Computer scientists focus on the theoretical foundations and practical approaches to computation and its applications. They design methods and tools, writing programs for computer applications uses, Artificial Intelligence (AI), stock market trend analysis, cyber security and patient monitoring in hospitals and more. 

You will study the fundamentals of computer science and IT: programming, problem-solving, network and communications, web technology, data management, system analysis, human-computer interaction, and project management. Specialise in a major from your second year of study by choosing one or more of the following majors: Artificial Intelligence and Big Data ,Cyber Security, Digital Systems Security (Wollongong campus only), Game and Mobile Development (Wollongong campus only), and Software Engineering.

In your final year you will develop your own application as part of a team project, developing solutions to real-world problems provided by our industry partners.

On completion of the Bachelor of Computer Science, you will be able to remain relevant to industry trends and developments as you enter this in-demand career.
