The Bachelor of Laws degree provides a gateway to a rewarding career in Law and can provide a strong foundation for other career opportunities. This degree will prepare you to work as a lawyer in a private practice, in government, as corporate counsel or in a not-for- profit organisation. While it can be challenging, the legal profession is also an immensely rewarding one. At Notre Dame, we have worked with leading judges, senior barristers and solicitors to design a quality degree that is rigorous, ethical, practical and relevant to the current Australian legal landscape. This degree combines a comprehensive coverage of legal and ethical principles, as well as the skills to apply these principles in legal practice.
The Bachelor of Theology will provide you with a grounding in biblical and theological studies and associated disciplines. You will learn more about your faith and how to examine it with academic expertise that emphasises the importance of communicating reasoned beliefs to others.
Within the Catholic intellectual tradition, theology relies upon philosophy, and philosophy reaches out to what theology has to offer. As a Theology student, you will learn to think well by creatively entering into the dynamic relationship between these disciplines.
With this degree, you will gain the skills and imagination to approach contemporary problems in a variety of different ways. Students studying the Bachelor of Theology can complete a Major or Minor in philosophy or a range of arts and sciences disciplines.

Professional recognition
Accredited by the Legal Profession Admission Board of NSW . Completion of Practical Legal Training is required to apply for admission as an Australian legal practitioner.
Honours
For Laws: Available as an embedded program to academically successful students.
For Theology: Eligible students may take a Leave of Absence from their Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Theology to complete a Bachelor of Theology (Honours) Program.
