Course overview
This combined degree is offered jointly by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the UTS Business School. It allows you to complete the core and major components of both the engineering and business degrees, producing engineers with skills in the commercialisation of technology, innovation, and business graduates with professional-level competency in technology use.
This combined degree can be completed in less time than two separate degrees.

Working in a business career applying advanced technology in commercial settings or practising as an engineer where business knowledge helps to ensure success in commercialisation of engineering innovations. The course provides excellent training for senior management roles.

Professional recognition
The accreditation status of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is dependent upon the Engineering major that is chosen; refer to the standalone Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) pages for details.

Practical experience
All students are required to complete a minimum of 12 weeks work experience. Students in the optional Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice undertake 2 x 6-month Work Integrated Learning internships in year 2 and year 4 which integrates theory with practice.
Honours
The Bachelor of Business (Honours) is available as an additional year to meritorious students.

Engineering: Biomedical, civil, chemical process, data science, electrical, electronic, mechanical, mechatronic, renewable energy, software. Flexible is also available with this combined degree. Business: Accounting, advertising and marketing communications, business analytics, economics, finance, human resource management, international business, management, marketing.
Entry requirements
Switch between domestic ATAR data and international qualification equivalents.
IB Diploma
30-33Admission is assessed against the qualification, prerequisite and English requirements for the course.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
