This program provides an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to support children and adolescents with additional needs. The program explores a range of contemporary issues in special and inclusive settings in education including working collaboratively to support young children's learning, socialisation and communication.

Graduates are eligible for admission into, and up to 40 units credit towards, the University of Newcastle Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) program.

Standard entry
- Admission into this short course is available to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents who are aged 17 years or older at Dec 31 2020. All applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English language proficiency requirement.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
