Course overview
The Bachelor of Midwifery develops skills, knowledge and experience to provide high-quality care through safe and effective midwifery practice in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Midwife standards for practice. Study areas include anatomy and physiology, midwifery theory and practice, primary healthcare, women’s health, mental health and psychosocial sciences.
As an essential member of multi-disciplinary teams, graduates will have the skills and abilities to work in partnership with women to contribute to healthier outcomes for mothers and babies. Teaching facilities include electronic resources, medical technology, bioscience laboratories and midwifery birth suites with the latest technology, highly specialised equipment and anatomical simulation models.
