Course overview
The Diploma of Information Technology is ideal for students wishing to pursue a career in IT. It provides a broad introduction to computer science, so you can pursue further studies in specialisations such as software design, information systems and web design. Students who successfully complete the Diploma of Information Technology will be eligible to enter the second year of studies of the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology or the Bachelor of Information Systems at Western Sydney University, Sydney City campus.

Standard entry
- Completion of Year 12: ATARs are not used for admission to SIBT. Applicants must demonstrate successful completion of an Australian Year 12 or international equivalent. Assessment is based on a 50% average over all the units undertaken in Year 12. Students may wish to submit additional information as part of their application (eg statement of purpose and/or CV with supporting evidence).
