Environmental Design is a broad study area that involves design and planning in relation to natural and constructed environments. It promotes synergy between objects and settings, built form and landscape across a range of scales, climates and cultures. Incorporating architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and environmental planning, it includes the analysis, conception and representation of places, objects and policies as they shape our environments.

Architecture is the conceptualisation and design of individual buildings and urban landscapes in response to existing and emerging social, economic, environmental and technological needs. The Architecture extended major prepares you for postgraduate studies, which can lead to registration as an architect*.

Environmental Geography and Planning

The Environmental Geography and Planning major focuses on how to ensure the sustainable use of the natural and built environment, ranging from urban design, managing natural resources and ensuring an appropriate quality of life for all in urban environments. You'll develop essential skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, fieldwork, the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing, analysing environmental policy and applying environmental planning techniques, all of which are essential for advancing your career.

Landscape Architecture
