Professional registration: The Murdoch Bachelor of Laws satisfies the University education requirements for the practice of law of the governing bodies of the legal profession of Western Australia. As is the pattern in the rest of Australia, before a candidate may be admitted to the practice of law in this State, certain additional requirements must be satisfied after completion of this formal university training.

Standard entry

Further information on Admissions pathways for Murdoch can be found in the Admission Pathways Admissions pathway other than ATAR Law Start is a legal ability and aptitude entrance pathway to study Law at Murdoch University. This pathway is for school leavers who have excelled at school in one or more ATAR courses with a strong focus on essay writing and communication skills. Applicants will also need to demonstrate their aptitude to study Law by participating in a workshop and completing a written assessment. Applicant with work and life experience STAT is not accepted for entry to this course, but may be used to demonstrate English competence requirements.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
