Course overview

In this course you’ll explore literary forms from the short story to the sonnet, from the blog to the bildungsroman, and from pastoral to performance poetry. You’ll learn skills in critical and creative reflection, and develop your writing practice. You will learn from scholars and established writers, ranging from short story writers and novelists who have published major works, to drama practitioners and performance theorists, and experts in English and Comparative Literature. You will learn to write in a range of literary and related genres, to think critically and creatively, and to communicate effectively.

Standard entry

  • All applicants Admissions requirements can be found at the Murdoch Courses page. Further information on Admissions pathways for Murdoch can be found in the Admission Pathways Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) study Completed VET qualification of Certificate IV or above. Applicants with work and life experience STAT is accepted for entry. Elements considered: Written English and either Verbal or Quantitative Mature Age Pathway - An interview and portfolio submission is available to applicants who do not meet Entry Requirements through previous study but who feel they have relevant work and life experience.
