This combined degree prepares students to teach in schools from kindergarten to year 6 or years 7-12, ensuring they are well equipped to meet the challenges of local and international teaching. It is a practice-based course that aims to produce high-quality graduates through an integrated program combining the latest educational theory with professional experience. In the fourth year, students undertake a year of in-country study at an overseas university. Standard entry
- Australian Year 12 qualification, AQF Diploma, or equivalent qualification. Entrants to an accredited undergraduate teaching degree need a minimum of 3 Band 5 HSC results, including one in English. Students are admitted to the international studies program with no guarantee of entry to a specific major, although every effort is made to meet students preferences. The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 7.5 overall, with a minimum of 8.0 in both the speaking and listening modules, and a reading and writing score of 7.0
- or TOEFL: paper based: 610-633 overall with TWE of 5.0, internet based: 102-109 overall with a writing score of 27
- or PTE: 73-78

If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result.
