Earth is our home – learn how it works and you will learn how to make a difference in managing our future. In our Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology, you’ll build a strong foundation in scientific principles and their application to our home planet – how it works, how it has evolved and how its different systems interact. You’ll build your knowledge in the materials of the Earth, how the elements of the planet combine in different ways to form minerals and rocks – how to identify them and how to read them to unravel a story of Earth history. Explore contemporary issues, from hazard mitigation to the extraction and management of Earth’s natural resources. Learn about deep time and climate change. Experience a fieldwork-focused program that uses the natural laboratory of the outdoors and combine this with theoretical and laboratory work.
