The Master of Teaching (Primary) (MTPRA) is an initial teacher education (ITE) degrees that prepare pre service teachers (PSTs) to teach in primary educational settings. PSTs enrolled in the MTPRA will develop in depth curriculum and pedagogy knowledge in teaching specialist areas aligned with state and national curriculum frameworks. The courses provide a balance of education learning theory with specialised content knowledge and applied pedagogical approaches.
Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.
Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution.
Applicants must complete a non academic capabilities assessment task that is based on the Australian Institute for Teaching and school Leadership Initial Teacher Education standards.
If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
