Course overview

The course is designed to give students a solid foundation in environmental health concepts, risk assessment and research skills. Students will be introduced to risk assessment and the use of toxicological, microbiological and epidemiological paradigms for assessing and managing environmental health risk.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

Applicants who do not hold the Graduate Diploma in Environmental Health Practice must normally hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution and have successfully completed a minimum of one semester full time (18 units or equivalent) in basic sciences such as chemistry, physics, microbiology, physiology, biology and life sciences.

  • However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
English requirement
IELTS Academic 6 (W 6 / S 6)

If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
