Course overview
The Master of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) provides education in artificial intelligence systems development and exploitation that solves real world problems using contemporary technologies while leveraging aspects of human intelligence. It enable computing graduates to extend their skills in an important emerging area, preparing students for either higher degree study or advanced employment in the Australian and international information technology industry and public service sectors.

Entry requirements
Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.
Postgraduate entry
- Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in computer science, information technology, ICT based engineering or a closely related discipline
- or the Graduate Diploma in Computer Science. Applicants with a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in behavioural science or psychology, which includes a major in artificial intelligence or computer science, are also eligible to apply.
- However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature. Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in computer science, information technology, ICT based engineering or a closely related discipline Or the Graduate Diploma in Computer Science. Applicants with a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution in behavioural science or psychology, which includes a major in artificial intelligence or computer science, are also eligible to apply. If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result.
