Course overview

Chemistry is a foundation science that shapes our modern world and addresses complex societal issues. It enables us to live healthier and more productive and sustainable lives while presenting opportunities for discovery and innovation. As societys needs and challenges evolve, chemistry continues to play a central role in developing solutions and driving progress. The Master of Chemistry is specifically designed to prepare you for a successful career in related industries, or to undertake further research as a pathway into PhD programs. To achieve this the course is divided into three distinctive phases (Transition, Mastery and Capstone), each building upon the previous to provide you with a comprehensive training in experimental skills and understanding of the field to contribute to todays and tomorrows challenges.

Postgraduate entry

Admission to most postgraduate coursework courses at the University of Tasmania requires qualifications equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree.

Applicants must achieve the required grade in their qualifying studies, meet any prerequisite subjects, and meet English language requirements to be eligible for an offer.
