Course overview
The Master of Arts (Philosophy) course is appropriate for people with an undergraduate philosophy degree, for those with an interest in philosophy who could not pursue that interest as an undergraduate, and also for people who are making the transition into philosophical research from another discipline. The course is designed to consolidate skills associated with studying philosophy and to provide a firm foundation for further independent research. The course also provides an opportunity for students to explore and master areas in philosophy pursuant to their own interests and then to develop this interest via a research project

Entry requirements
Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.
Postgraduate entry
No structured standard entry requirements are available yet; confirm against the latest course requirements.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
