Course overview

As our ecosystems and land management sectors change, how we study and work with them must change too. This course will prepare you for a wide range of ecosystem, forest and landscape management employment pathways by giving you specialist knowledge in the biophysical and social aspects of ecosystem management, working at both local and landscape levels.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a directly related discipline with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65% (or equivalent),

  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with at least 25 credit points (two subjects) in chemistry, biology, mathematics or statistics subjects (or equivalents) with a WAM of at least 65% (or equivalent),
  • An undergraduate degree in any area and a Graduate Certificate in a relevant discipline with a weighted average mark of at least 65% (or equivalent) in the certificate,
  • A 2-year associate degree or diploma (or equivalent) in a directly related discipline, AND at least five years of documented relevant work experience AND either completion of a relevant Melbourne MicroCert or an appropriate level of performance on a test conducted by the Selection Committee.
English requirement
IELTS Academic 6.5

If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
