Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Specialisation - compulsory: In a relevant discipline area/s for primary or secondary teaching as per the National Program Standards and the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

For secondary teaching, students must qualify in either one double (Drama, Mathematics, Physical Education, Commerce, and Visual Arts) or two single method-teaching areas from the listed disciplines: Arts, English, Health, Physical Education, Humanities, Languages, Mathematics, Outdoor education, Science, SOSE and TESOL.

  • Postgraduate: Prerequisites - Undergraduate requirements - Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
  • International: IELTS - Course specific - 7.0 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 7.0 and a score of no less than 7.5 in Speaking and Listening.
