Course overview

Develop a deeper understanding of how states and other political entities shape the international system, and how you can play a part in it. The Graduate Certificate in International Relations (GCIR) is a coursework program aimed at developing conceptual and empirical understanding and skill-sets in research and knowledge development in the International Relations (IR) field. You will work with world-class teachers and researchers who are in touch with industry partners and participate in regular public commentary and debate in their fields, and you will study alongside students from many different countries and backgrounds.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, or To have completed post-secondary studies and have 2 years full-time equivalent relevant work experience with documented evidence (such as references).

Applications on the basis of post-secondary study and/or work experience will be individually assessed.

IELTS Academic 6.5, no band below 6PTE Academic 64, no component below 60TOEFL iBT 87 (L 19 / R 19 / W 21 / S 19)

If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
