Entry requirements
Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.
Postgraduate entry
- For Provisional entry (you must be completing Year 12 in the year you apply): An adjusted ATAR 95 (or equivalent), and Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) English, and a competitive University Clinical Aptitude Test for Australia and New Zealand (UCAT ANZ) aggregate score from the year you apply, and attendance at a multiple mini-interview (MMI). For Graduate entry: a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (known as a key degree), and a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your key degree, and a minimum score of 50 in each section of the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) or for international applicants 504 in the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), and attendance at a multiple mini-interview (MMI), and successful completion of the required MD subject prerequisite courses. You'll also need to complete: your key degree within 10 years prior to the year you commence the MD, and the GAMSAT within 2 or MCAT within 4 years before the year you commence. If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
