This dual program allows you to combine studies in engineering with your choice of majors from a wide range of subjects in the arts. UQ is home to the largest number of engineering study options in Queensland, with 6 core specializations to choose from. Select from chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering or software engineering. Standard entry
- Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C).
- Students without Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) may be required to undertake preparatory courses beyond the 88 units for the program and may not be able to complete the program in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study. Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C). Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C). And one of Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C). Studying Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C) and both Chemistry and Physics is recommended as students will have increased flexibility in their studies. Students without Specialist Mathematics (or equivalent) may be required to undertake preparatory courses beyond the 88 units for the program and may not be able to complete the program in the minimum time frame without overloading or undertaking summer study.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result.
