Course overview

The Bachelor of Applied Public Health prepares you on disease prevention and health promotion measures at a community and population level. It delivers knowledge of health promotion campaigns and advocacy, health policy and health monitoring as well as planning, implementation and evaluation of health programs. This course presents the opportunity to promote public health initiatives in diverse healthcare settings. Through this course, you will learn about health at a population level. You will study health promotion campaigns and advocacy, health policy, health monitoring and screening, as well as planning, implementation and evaluation of health programs. Our industry placement program means you'll be more than ready to meet growing demand for high quality public health graduates.

Standard entry

  • Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma). Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) (optional), or Personal competencies and/or employment experience (optional) If you have studied at higher education level in the last two years, you must not have accumulated more than a total of two full-time years of higher education study in order to use your STAT/PCA/Employment results. If you have been employed in the Australian Defence Force you may be eligible to apply for an undergraduate course on the basis of your service. See here .
