Course overview

Acting is more than just waiting for that one big break. The Bachelor of Performance (Acting) is Flinders' dedicated professional training degree for actors on both stage and screen. Taught by practising industry professionals in exceptional, purpose-built spaces and studios, this degree prepares industry-ready graduates with the theoretical and practical skills to create their own shows and media, and to start an exceptional career.

Students will gain training to work across stage, screen and digital platforms, and develop the skills to become a creative thinker, collaborator, and cultural producer. The training includes ensemble building, script analysis, character development, movement, voice and speech and is combined with intellectually stimulating study in dramatic history, theory, and criticism. This will equip students to work not only as an actor under the leadership of other creatives, but also as an independent artist generating and producing your own content.

Your career

Flinders Drama Centre has spent over 50 years developing the most professional, innovative curriculum possible. Graduates of the Flinders Drama Centre are thoughtful actors who understand the theatrical past, so they can shape the future of performance.

Applicants seeking to train as a theatre director should add the Bachelor of Performance (Directing) (245131) as a preference to their application.
