Students of exceptional academic ability can undertake an enhanced program of studies with the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Enhanced Program for High Achievers. It provides opportunities to embark upon research in every year of the degree. The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Enhanced Program for High Achievers aims to develop a range of transferable research, analytical and communication skills including the capacity to understand and apply relevant scientific principles; retrieve and present scientific information, including communicating effectively with a variety of audiences in written and spoken form and critically analyse and evaluate information and solve problems.
On completion of this degree students will be familiar with, know and critically apply the theories, subject content, professional methodologies and research procedures and analyse and critically evaluate ideas/information/data and apply relevant scientific principles to solve problems by creating hypotheses, testing theories and predictions, designing and carrying out experiments and analysing reported data.
This degree prepares graduates with the foundations that will underpin ongoing professional development preparing graduates for further study in a science or for a career in a science related field. Potential occupations may include clinical data analyst, biochemist and biologist; potential employers may include medical research organisations, government agencies and universities.
Entry requirements
Switch between domestic ATAR data and international qualification equivalents.
IB Diploma
24Use the ATAR 60 band together with the relevant qualification and prerequisite requirements.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
