Course overview

Build your knowledge base in the areas you're passionate about, develop the complex critical thinking and problem solving skills required to solve some of the world's greatest challenges, and learn transferable skills that are highly valued in the workplace with a Bachelor of Arts.

With an exciting array of majors to choose from - including History, English, Creative Writing, Psychology, French, Visual Arts and Politics - Flinders' Bachelor of Arts will enable discovery, encourage questioning, and deepen your understanding of the challenges and big ideas of the 21st Century and beyond, across both local and global contexts. This degree will help students make sense of the diversity of the human experience, and give them transformative skills that will be essential in our rapidly-changing world of work.

This flexible degree requires completion of at least one major sequence and one minor sequence, allowing exploration of an in-depth single field of study, or a wide range of different fields.

Your Career

Upon completion, students will be able to synthesise knowledge across two or more areas of Arts-based study and adapt knowledge and skills acquired across geographical, disciplinary, social, and cultural boundaries. This degree prepares graduates for employment in many fields given the broad scope of specialisations on offer. Potential occupations could include graduate policy officer, editorial assistant, communications and campaigns assistant; while potential employers may include government agencies, community organisations, businesses and social research companies.

The Psychology major of this degree is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council.
