Course overview
The Diploma of Health Science equips you with essential skills and knowledge applicable to the Australian health care system. The Diploma of Health Science provides a selection of core units providing skills and knowledge across health promotion, culturally inclusive practice, the Australian health care system and it's polices. With flexible delivery presenting internal and external study options, students can pursue units which provide a pathway into the following courses: Bachelor of Health Science, Bachelor of Public Health, Bachelor of Health Service Management, and, Bachelor of Health Science/Masters of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Health Science/Master of Speech Pathology and Bachelor of Health Science/Master of Nutrition.
Graduating from this course may lead to career opportunities in areas such as health promotion, primary and community health centres, non-government organisations, social services, project officer roles or therapy services officer.

Standard entry
- Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma), and achieve a competitive selection rank. Year 12 Grades Pathway: Applicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection into their preferred course may be offered based on their year 12 subject grades. Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE/NTCE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or STAT multiple choice test (optional), or Personal competencies and/or employment experience (optional) If you have been employed in the Australian Defence Force you may be eligible to apply for an undergraduate course on the basis of your service. If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
