Course overview
During the Bachelors component of the degree, youll focus on computer science. Youll learn how to improve the technologies that are vital to the modern world and educate your community about their importance.
You will develop skills and knowledge in the principles and applications of computer science. You will also strengthen your problem solving, decision making and communication skills, making you a confident and competent candidate for your dream job in IT.
During the Masters degree component of the course, you will focus on three specialisations in information technology: software engineering, cyber security, and information systems and data science. This is an opportunity to explore your interests in these fields.
This course is designed to meet the accreditation requirements of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at Professional Level. This course is also designed to meet the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education (EQANIE) accreditation requirements at master's level.

Standard entry
- Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma), and achieve a competitive selection rank. Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE/NTCE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) VET Completed an award from a registered training organisation at Diploma level or above
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
