Students obtain project management, airline and airport operations, international aviation law and safety management systems knowledge required for the aviation industry. The flight operations major allows students to undertake flight training within the degree requirements. This program includes professional development workshops where students can develop employability skills, deepen their understanding of aviation professional culture, and gain industry insight from aviation experts. Graduates in the flight operations major obtain the flying skills and knowledge to meet the Civil Aviation Safety Authority requirements of the Australian Commercial Pilot Licence. Graduates from the Flight Operations major are qualified to enter the aviation industry as a commercial pilot. Subject to additional flying experience, graduates will find employment opportunities in airlines, general aviation (e.g., charter and flight instruction), or in other supporting roles. Graduates from the Aviation Management major will be equipped to undertake a variety of operational, support and leadership roles in the aviation industry.
