Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences
ProviderThe University of QueenslandCourse overview
Through this program, students explore human movement and nutrition across the lifespan and discover the roles that food, exercise and rest play in health, the prevention of chronic disease, and sporting performance. Students develop the knowledge and skills to address two of the most important risk factors for chronic disease – physical activity and nutrition – and gain a strong foundation to support healthier communities. Students have the option to deep dive into their area of interest while developing expertise in their chosen field of study, with majors available in nutrition sciences, sports coaching, or sporting cultures. With flexible course options, students can tailor their studies towards meeting the entry requirements into a range of postgraduate degrees, including medicine. For domestic students interested in becoming a dietitian, the nutrition major in the Bachelor of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences meets the course requirements for entry into the Master of Dietetics Studies.
