Successful applicants must complete CPP40115 Certificate IV in Building Design Drafting or CPP40121 Certificate IV in Residential Drafting or 52757WA Certificate IV in Residential Building Drafting or demonstrate relevant vocational experience, skills and knowledge commensurate with the scope of work covered in the core units of CPP40121 Certificate IV in Residential Drafting before progressing to the Diploma of Building Design.

Progress your career as a building designer or draftsperson with this diploma qualification from TAFE Queensland. This course meets the technical requirements for you to apply for a Building Design - Low Rise or Building Design - Medium Rise licence. In this course students will learn specialist skills in building design for residential and small-scale commercial projects. Students will learn to understand client needs to develop building design concepts and create sustainable design solutions. Utilising a suite of software programs for computer-aided drafting (CAD) and presentation, students will produce and present drawings and models. TAFE Queensland's industry-expert teachers will ensure students develop the theoretical and practical skills to produce high quality work that complies with occupational health and safety and building code requirements.
