Course overview
In the higher education diploma year, students develop fundamental academic skills, cementing their knowledge in foundation subjects and core concepts. Students gain a thorough grounding in the application of clinical, developmental, biological, cognitive, social and organisational psychology. In addition, they develop skills in critical analysis and evaluation, data handling and communication. On successful completion, students’ may progress into the Griffith University Bachelor of Psychological Science with a full year credit. During university study, students learn to evaluate and understand measurements of intellectual, behavioural and emotional states, as well as the principles of counselling, and skills to assist with health, personal, vocational and social difficulties. Graduates have the option to take a further (honours) year in psychology.
