Course overview

Urban and regional planning is a profession that shapes the places where people live, work and connect. Planners influence how cities and regions grow and adapt – balancing housing, infrastructure, environment and community needs to create places that are liveable, sustainable and responsive to change. As populations grow and climate pressures increase, planning plays a critical role in shaping how people experience everyday life. The Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning – shaped by a unique social and environmental planning focus and embedded Indigenous perspectives – will see you develop a broad understanding of the complex economic, cultural, political and sustainability elements shaping contemporary planning. You’ll have opportunities to work with emerging AI tools and geographic information science equipment, so you’ll be well-equipped to work with evolving planning technologies. Teaching is delivered by industry-connected practitioners and award-winning, research-active academics, whose insights and experience ensure you’ll build the versatile capabilities needed to navigate competing priorities in real-world contexts.
