Course overview

As environmental change accelerates, the need for trained professionals who can protect and restore natural systems has never been more urgent. Addressing challenges such as biodiversity loss, ecosystem degradation and climate change requires more than scientific knowledge alone. It calls for people who can work across environmental ecological, social, cultural and ethical dimensions; evaluate evidence critically; and contribute to solutions that balance environmental integrity with human needs. The Bachelor of Environment and Conservation provides an interdisciplinary foundation in environmental sciences, environmental management and biological conservation, which will prepare you to navigate key environmental challenges shaping our future. You’ll build strong scientific and analytical capability through research-led learning, hands-on lab work and extensive field experiences across urban, coastal, riverine and marine contexts, while developing experience with industry-relevant tools such as environmental assessment, geographic information systems and remote sensing. Teaching is delivered by award-winning researchers and globally recognised experts in environment and conservation, which ensures your learning is informed by current research and practice.
